Wunderpus Octopus - [Wunderpus photogenicus]
Punta, Dauin, Dumaguete, Philippines
Octopus in general are one of my favorite critters to find under the sea. I love the way they raise up to make themselves look big. The Wunderpus will curl its arms around their head and expand way out like a carpet. To me it looks like a flag unfurling but one of their 'flags' is a beautifully patterned webbing. Their body is an orangish-brown color with white lines. The lines are quite distinct looking. Which differs from the Mimic Octopus [Thaumoctopus mimicus] which have very blurred white lines on a lighter brown body. An octopus' ability to blend into what ever environment is quite astonishing. I have looked at where my dive guide is pointing and telling me there is an octopus many times and not seen the octopus. Sometime for quite a length of time. It is also amazing to watch one swim changing colors as it passes over different parts of the reef.

How archival are Metal Prints?
Images printed with the MetalPrints process will last for generations when displayed indoors and out of direct sunlight. Like any fine art print, MetalPrints should not be exposed to direct sunlight or high outdoor temperatures. MetalPrints have an additional benefit over giclee or photographic processes in that they are waterproof and have an ultra-hard scratch resistant coating. The archival value of a print should be judged not only by its resistance to degradation by U.V. light and ozone exposure, but also to moisture and surface damage. When these factors are brought into the equation, MetalPrints are an excellent way to preserve an image.
